In the year 2099, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of wild firestorms and radiation. Then, it was only darkness and neverending frost, but we humans are resilient creatures. We endured 7 years of nuclear winter, but we never expected what was about to come after. We thought that once the light came through, it would bring warmth, but it only brought more death.

It seemed like the thin protective layer of our atmosphere was now gone, consumed by nuclear fire, making the scorching sun too much to bear. Solar radiation was running wild, messing with all kinds of things from our planet. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong - Huge tectonic movements, giant tidal waves, and supervolcanoes erupting. Earth was no longer hospitable!​

In a last-ditch effort, the remaining survivors were placed in cryo pods and sent hurtling through space with a collision path to an earth-like planet 56 light-years away. The pods were not perfect in design, the most crucial flaw being the memory module which was insufficiently insulated, causing massive data loss. Most of them didn't even reach the Exoplanet and those that did, arrived even within a few hundred years apart.
